FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINIA 7 Day Weather Forecast

Places to Stay

Most hotels and motels in the greater Fredericksburg area are located at it’s three I-95 exits (133, 130, and 126). All the major chains are represented here. Fredericksburg also has several excellent Bed & Breakfast and Inns located in the “Old Town” area; The Fredericksburg Colonial Inn, The Kenmore Inn, and The Selby House are all located on Princess Anne Street. The Spooner House and The Richard Johnston Inn are located on Caroline Street.

Places to Eat

Look for most of Fredericksburg’s restaurants near the three I-95 exits. Plank Road (VA 3, Exit 130) is the main area to go for the greatest selection. Fast-foods and the better national chains are all located here. Be sure to try Captain D’s Seafood, my personal favorite!  On Fredericksburg’s south side at I-95 exit 126, you’ll find several chains too. The Cracker Barrel offers a real nice family down-home atmosphere…

Places to Go

You absolutely must take the walking tour of Fredericksburg’s Old Town area along the Rappahannock River. There are dozens of historic buildings and sites here open to the public. The area is also the site of several Civil War Battlefields including Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and Wilderness Battlefields.

For the shopper, The Spotsylvania Mall (I-95 exit 130 – Plank Road is the region’s largest. Actually, Plank Road has become one of the premiere shopping districts in Virginia. K-Mart, WalMart and many of the large national department and specialty stores are located here.

Getting Around

I-95 runs north-south along Fredericksburg’s west side. US Route 1 runs parallel to I-95. These two highways have most of the areas commercial development. The city’s historic “Old Town” district is found by taking VA Route 3 (I-95 exit 130) east about two miles.
